My Lord,

I have the honour to state that

application has been made to me by the Vice-Admiral for the

lease of an area of land in Happy Valley upon which it is

proposed to erect a pavilion for the use of the Navy.

2.

I have now to ask Your Lordship's

authority to grant to the Commodore as trustee on behalf

of the Navy a lease of the site shown on the enclosed plan

for 75 years at a nominal Crown Rent of $1 a year and with-

-out premium, on the condition that no compensation for

land or buildings will be given in the event of its be-

-coming necessary for this Government to resume the site

for public purposes.

3.

The lease of a site in the vicini-

-ty to the Garrison Recreation Club upon similar terms was
